Do Dogs Go to Heaven?
I was facilitating a Bible Study with a group of 3rd and 4th graders when I was asked one of those questions that may keep some people from teaching. It wasn’t apologetics, or homiletics, or the difference between free will and predestination.
Merry Christmas from Culture War College
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.
I Could Sing, Once
There weren’t many activities you could sign up for as a new cadet—a “doolie”—at the Air Force Academy in the early 1970s. Actually, there were quite a few activities available, but you would only have time to sign up for one or two. That was a function of how much marginal free time you had. And, that wasn’t very much. A lot of athletes “walk-on” at the Academy—about 65% of all athletes there walk-on. Alas, I wasn’t one of those.
I Lost My Job, Too
Just these past couple of weeks some really good people very close to me no longer have their jobs. I know how they feel.
Mike Pence is Looking Pretty Good
When I was on active duty, I kept my office door open for most meetings. But, when I was meeting with a member of the opposite sex, I never closed my door.
The Assault on Truth
You guys still don’t get it, do you?
I read with interest some left-wing opinion pieces this week that centered around the notion that Bill Clinton, despite the fact that he was, should have been impeached after all.
Headlines from Just Last Night
I’m off to give my annual donation at a medical lab this morning prior to my annual “How Ya’ Doin’” with my doctor next week. These aren’t headlines, unless, of course, you don’t see your doctor at least each year. If that’s the case, you won’t see any headlines from me. I’m ringing you up.
But, here is just a brief survey of the media’s “best” from last night:
A Veterans Day Question for You
My question for you this weekend is this. Would you give your life for your country? It likely separates out many of our countrymen who wouldn’t die for anything. Just ask them that same question. I think you’ll find it shuts down a lot of conversations.
Rolling the Clocks Back
We turned the clocks back last Sunday morning, but it was only for an hour, and likely many didn’t really care. Some on the “progressive” side of the cultural divide would care if we turned them back 60 years, but not 60 minutes.
Job Fair Today
You can pray for me if you want to, but I’m off to a career fair today. Retirement is overrated. Actually, I’m not sure I know what retirement is yet. I’ve never been busier. I tell people it would be easier if I had a day job.
