Having Difficulty Accessing the Basic Course?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I trust you’re enjoying a great holiday weekend. If you have enrolled in The Basic Course, I have received some feedback that you might be having difficulty accessing the course curriculum. If that is the case, please send me a note with your User ID, and the nature of your difficulty, to...
Political Party Soul Searching 101
The post-election recriminations from the left-wing have started to roll in. No one is taking responsibility for this historic defeat. Hillary is blaming Comey. I’m just relieved that she’s not going to be able to blame-away another Benghazi. I suppose I should let this go. I mean, “what difference, at this point, does it make?”
Pardon Me, Mr. President
As a social and national defense conservative, I look at the election results and I’m hopeful that government-sanctioned aggression on our core values, institutions and standards will suspend, at least for a little while.
Athens, Fed 10, and the Electoral College
In The History of the Peloponnesian War, general/historian Thucydides documents the great speeches from the Agora in Athens during their war with neighboring Sparta (431 – 404BC). Athens was a direct democracy and Sparta was ruled by oligarchs.
Truth, Honor, and Veterans Day
In the Declaration of Independence, our Forefathers mutually pledged to each other their lives, their fortunes, and something called their sacred honor.
In this current culture, you may not find a lot of people who’ve determined something for which they’d lay down their lives. People calculate and invest to create their fortunes—there’s not much calculation involving pledging their fortunes to someone else. And, it seems there is little sacred about the honor of many of our countrymen. Honor is dismissed so easily these days.
After Today, What’s Next? “Fear Not”
We have certainly endured a brutal election season. No matter who wins, our country is a deeply divided nation ideologically and that didn’t change in the last couple of weeks and it won’t change after the election today. The winners will win an election, but they will not win the union. Whoever wins will take an oath of office but will likely not know what an oath is or what it means to take an oath.
Character: Who You Are when No One is Leaking Your E-mails
When I arrived in Washington to work at the Pentagon, I was briefed that I should compose my e-mails so that if they showed up on the front page of the “Washington Post,” I wouldn’t be embarrassed. And that was over 18 years ago.
About Trump and Nukes
To be clear, I am not a Trump apologist. Over a year ago, I disqualified both candidates who are now the major party standard-bearers. In recent days, I’ve heard some fallacies about one of the candidates involving a subject I might know something about: national defense. So, let me clear that up for you.
The Mind is the Womb of Sin
“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” – Romans 1:18 – 20
Death, Where is Your Sting? I Know Where.
Perhaps we should take up the subject of death on Culturewarcollege.com. Many will conflate the notions of death and war but it doesn’t have to be that way. In discussing worldly warfare, Sun Tzu said that to convince your enemy to surrender without fighting was considered the “acme of skill.” The truth is that death does not have to be an outcome of war, but it will always be an outcome of physical life.
