There are so many assertions and truth claims and alternative facts and fake news items floating around these days, you almost want to see which ones sink first so that you know how to find the true truths. If that doesn’t make sense to you, it’s not supposed to. One never “floats” true truths. They stand on their own.

For nearly two decades now, since truth became a matter of what the meaning of “is” is, I’ve never seen the left embracing the notion of truth more feverishly than in the first month of this new administration.  Really?  In what is being described as our “post-truth” culture, I’ve never seen the left more eager to return to the days before progressivism took over liberalism and truth was consigned to the back alleys.

Stunned by the defeat of their candidate, the media that dominates every news and entertainment program have been a non-stop plague on the rascal we elected.  The truth is he is a rascal, but he’s also our president and the riots on the airwaves emitting from the media outlets have been every bit as embarrassing as the Soros-paid riots in the streets.

How much does true truth matter to our culture anyway?  My sense is the culture has given up on being told what truth is by the media.  It doesn’t matter very much to the electorate apparently.  Our current president was elected despite all of the trash in his background.  They could care less about his past and probably cares even less about it after the last month of media dumpster diving.  They wouldn’t have voted for him if they didn’t think the media belonged in the dumpster anyway.  Sorry about that double negative.  But all we’re hearing from the media is as many negatives as possible.

Until now, the left has embraced truth only to the extent it served to buttress their agenda.  More on their agenda later.  But for years, if the truth got in the way of their agenda, then the truth was dismissed and they instead would attack the heralds of truth.  When I see the news now, I can’t help but note the squirming postures of relativists who are definitely uncomfortable with defending truth and truth heralds.  It’s like they’ve been unfaithful to those they brought to the dance, blaming the change in music for their sloppy choreography.

Note to the media:  Find those heralds of the truth and ask them about absolutes.  When you learn the language of truth, you might be a more effective truth advocate.  Careful now.  Warning!  You might turn into . . . wait for it . . . a conservative.
